Savannah Riley Austin was born at 5:12 am on Sunday, June 1, 2014. She weighs 7 lbs. 11 oz., measures 20.5 inches long, and she’s absolutely lovely.

I had a student named Savannah a number of years ago (this story is about her actually), and I thought her name was sweet. I tucked it away in my mind in the “maybe some day” category, and fortunately Trav really liked it, too! Her middle name, Riley, is passed down to her from her daddy and her great-grandpa.

The staff at St. Jude was great, and we had a really good experience at the hospital. Especially once the epidural kicked in. 😉 We loved just hanging out with Savannah and getting to introduce her to so many of our dear family and friends. And of course we spent quite a bit of time looking at each other saying, “Did that all really just happen? We have a baby!”

And since we were both recovering well, we were able to go home the next day on June 2nd, which happened to be our 2nd wedding anniversary!

Welcome home, sweet girl! We love you so much already!
