One of my favorite books that I read this year is 9 Things You Simply Must Do to Succeed in Love and Life by Henry Cloud. Please excuse the super long and kinda silly title that is rather demanding- the content is amazing! One of the chapters is about humility, and I really appreciated the practical ways Dr. Cloud described how a humble person acts and responds to life. Here are some of the things he shared that I’m wanting to put into practice:
Humility is grateful.
Humility listens.
Humility says “I’m sorry.”
Humility says “Thank you!” after being given a compliment rather than brushing it off with “Oh, it was nothing.”
Humility gives up investing in looking good or right.
Humility uses failure as a teacher and friend.
Humility embraces imperfections.
I’m not sure how to end this post, so let’s go with embracing imperfections and not worrying about it being perfect or looking good. =) The end.
Great reminders, Laura. Thanks!
